Registered an account with Navteq and it said it had a map update. Plus, Mazda really does have a great gps and the monitor is perfectly placed for your eyes. It's nice to see the side streets, upcoming gas stations - and it even displays a little red speed limit sign if I am speeding. Place it in, turn on the car and you have Nav. The bad: putting desired location in is difficult. The compass was ok, but altitude? Overall it's significantly worse than using an app on your phone. Turn by turn voice is controllable and easy to hear. I had the nav in the '14 same package really and now I didn't have the nav. You now have a fully updated and enabled Navigation system on your Mazda! One of the things that made me worry was that when I went to Nav before I bought this and would get the pathetic compass it said the car wasn't equipped with a navigation system but Mazda could put it in etc.
The good: Plug and play. I even tried taking the card out and plugging it back in. I messaged seller about problem and they ignored my request to return it and they told Amazon they solved the issue. In this case - I am thrilled and now my new Mazda has affordable navigation! Got up the next day and went to work. And as always, purchasing through Amazon means good support and no hassle returns if something isn't right. I am grateful that I had an honest salesperson. And it worked the 2 times I used it.
This item at this price, sold by Amazon. Plugged it in and it loaded the navigation. You must know the zip code to get passed step 1. It was plug and play, so the card works fine in a 2017 sport. . I scanned through all the sub-routines and everything worked great. Hi to all, Yesterday driving the car, I saw that the navigation screen showed the compass and also altitude.
I just bought the 2017 Mazda 3 Touring car. I put the card in my Mazda and navigation worked immediately. I turned engine on, went to the navigation menu and there it was on the screen the map of the neighborhood. The only gripe I have is with the navigation system itself and not the product. Worked all day and got off from work. Put it back in my car. It does not update with real time traffic.
Will update again when it gets here. The difficulty of putting in directions is a deal breaker. . . . . .
