I have it back for now I talked to the dealer and they replaced the shifter. I had to rock it back and forth repeatedly until it unlocked. I'll never buy a Deere product again.

We will send Free Loan-A-Tool to remove your clutch if needed. Save yourself the frustration and deal with a product that is of higher quality and offered by a company who is trustworthy and actually stands behind their products. The trans had to go thru a major repair due to the use of rubber hoses instead of galvanized pipe or copper to run the hydraulic oil and not one sensor to indicate low oil. Service any unit as it should and it will last you. However I now have a slight problem with going from forward to reverse. Does the problem still exist after letting the machine cool overnight? If noise is still present, remove the drive shaft and inspect the two pillow block bearings. I'm wondering if the clutch was hot. Please keep us updated and I hope my post helped some. When working normally, I can shift easily whenever the rpm around 1050 or less.
In short don't ever expect all the parts to be included with your purchases from John Deere and also don't expect them to help you out. I contacted Area manager and expressed my displeasure.
